A 404 page from the Cambridge University. Wonder what the nickname of Mr. Dickens was?
Song of the day
India Down Under
The Boxing Day Test at the historic MCG. And India playing Australia. If there is one country that gives Australia any competition whatsoever, despite rankings, it is India. And India haven’t done too badly for itself on the first day.
At 337 for 9, the Aussies find themselves in a rare situation. So complete has been their domination of the game that before this test, Gilchrist had not batted on the first day of a test for more than a year! If it was Ganguly in the first test of the last tour, it is Kumble this time with his first day 5-wicket haul.
Australia are not even on the back-foot, let alone being down. But they are in unfamiliar territories. A position they haven’t really been in for a long time.
Seems like we have an interesting second day’s play tomorrow!
Apple screws up
All my friends know that I am an Apple fanboy (who doesn’t own any apply product btw!), and one of the fiercest defenders of their policies.
But I guess that this time, they have gone over board and have truly screwed up. Think Secret is gone, and so is a source of free publicity for you, and more juice. Also, connects you with what people think about proposed changes and their needs. Sorry guys. I think you fucked up!
BarCamp Delhi
BarCamp Delhi has been announced. I have heard quite a lot about such events and definitely wish to be a part of such an event. So I have signed up, and also volunteered with the task photography. I am confused why they are calling it the fourth edition, when only 2 have taken place before. Any clues anyone?
BarCamp is calling. Where are you?
Daily Roundup
I have pretty busy over the past many weekends, and this one was no different. Debo was in town and it was nice spending time with him.
Anyways a few interesting nuggets from the web.
- Upgrade to XP from Vista says CodingSanity - I agree. Too many warnings. Let me use it please. I not a effing retard you know. [Link via FSJ]
- Vicky Nanjappa asks Scorpions if they would introduce hip hop into their music. Yes. And they are also thinking of hiring Anu Malik as their composer and Himesh Baba as their lead singer. [Link via India Uncut]
- For the IP Geeks - Espacenet is thinking of allowing download of search results in XML/CSV format. Good going folks. I remember having given a similar suggestion to Google Patents team. But they seem to have gone into hibernation.
- Finally, Apar has great series going on here. Must read.

Post of the day..
.. comes from the big bad Microsoft Corporation (that too from the IE folks!) It discusses the various suggestions for the name of IE8. I guess this stems from the gazillion different versions of the Vista.
IE Desktop Online Web Browser Live Professional Ultimate Edition for the Internet (the marketing team really pushed for this one
)
Update: Asok, the lone Indian in Dilbert, has been killed off in the comic by Scott Adams. Fare ye well mate. RIP.
